A tingle was within the air the 2nd it was announced there would be a brand new “Wall Street” movie. The film, “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” has been hotly anticipated. The original film was released not long following the stock market crash within the 1980s. The comeback of ‘Wall Street’

The more things change, the more they stay the very same. The second movie, equally the 1st, takes place in the midst of a financial crisis, and within the sequel, it is the real estate crisis of 2008. What is assumed is that notorious corporate raider Gordon Gekko is just being released from prison, as a result of events from the first film. It is a legendary role. It won Douglas an Oscar, and legions of enthusiasts. Seems like his new job is as a lecturer, as he gives talks to business students. The fiancĂ© of Gekko’s daughter within the movie, played by LeBeouf, works at an investment financial institution and looks to bring down a corrupt hedge fund manager. It is partly a story of sabotage of the wicked. Nevertheless, the movie, nicknamed but not actually titled “Wall Street 2,” is also a story of redemption.

Real Wall Street

People that work on Wall Street are aware that it is just a movie. A post in the Wall Street Journal by Martin Fridson opines that the movie captured popular outrage, but that it ignores real causes of the 2008 crash. A Wall Street lawyer, who stayed anonymous also said the movie was fine as entertainment, according to ABC. He also maintained that the movie shouldn’t be taken as more than that. Dramatic portrayals of historic events often leave out crucial details, for the sake of sensation. The film really employed a fair number of Wall Street insiders as technical advisors. A couple of have lamented that Oliver Stone did not treat on the complexities of the market well enough within the movie.

Madoff and Lehman spoiled the bushel

There is some truth within the clichĂ© that a bad apple ruins a bundle. It is kind of a shame. Many on Wall Street work incredibly ethically and unbelievably hard. If “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” was about those type of people, it wouldn’t sell many tickets.
